A Sweet Necklace by Barbe St. John Kicks Off Our August Blog Hop
A couple of months ago we sent out a surprise box to three dozen of our artistic, crafty friends. Each box had a few pieces, chosen at random, from Susan Lenart Kazmer’s latest Industrial Chic line (available exclusively at Michaels Craft Stores).
What a delight to open e-mails and see each artist’s vision revealed!
One of our favorite sexy divas starts our hop off this month with a sweet necklace.
Barbe St. John is a mixed media artist, who envisions herself as a modern day alchemist/archeologist. Barbe loves taking items that are broken, rusty, vintage, lost, forgotten, sparkly, torn, and tarnished things and transform them into new creations.
You may have taken one of Barbe’s classes or seen her work in Belle Armoire Jewelry, Jewelry Affaire, Steampunk Style Jewelry, Artist Trading Cards or her co-authored book: 1000 Steampunk Creations. Whether you count yourself naughty, nice o, or somewhere in between, her Saints and Sinners blog will give you a closer look at this piece and more!
Here is a little preview of what you’ll be able to enjoy the rest of this month! Check back each day and we’ll let you know where you can hop to next for some mixed media inspiration! Opening each new e-mail was an Ahhh, wow, so fantastiqe moment.
We will be hopping every day through August 26. You are invited to check back and see each wonderful project that these artists so graciously took their time to create. Cheryl Bodkin-Waters is tomorrow’s artist!
